Details
This session is a practical walk-through of what “good” looks like for Continuing Professional Development how to record it, how to reflect on it and how it will be assessed when members are selected for audit each year.
It is aimed at all members of the IHE.
The session will cover:
- The CPD approach and recording formats which are MyCareerPath (My CPD Online) and the IHE CPD Record Template (Word/Excel).
- The Plan – Do – Reflect – Evaluate – Review structure behind the IHE CPD templates and how to use it without overcomplicating it
- How CPD evidence maps to UK-SPEC competences and the Engineering Council expectations for EngTech, IEng and CEng registrants
- What an auditor actually reviews the difference between a weak entry and a strong entry, with anonymised worked examples
- Categorising CPD across technical, professional and ethical learning
- Evidence of what counts, what doesn’t and how much is enough
- Common reasons CPD records come back with observations and how to avoid them
- Practical tips for members selected in the November 2026 audit cycle
- Q&A.
Attendees will leave with a clear picture of what the IHE expects, a self-check they can run on their own CPD record the same day and the confidence that if they are randomly selected for audit, their record will hold up.
This session counts as 1 hour of structured CPD and a recording will be made available via the CPD Hub for members unable to attend live.
