One day course from the Institute of Highway Engineers, Institute of Asphalt Technology and the Institute of Quarrying.
To achieve meaningful carbon reduction requires staff to be appropriately skilled. Through implementation of Carbon Literacy, individuals can increase their knowledge and capacity to create a positive shift in response to climate change. In addition, for organisations seeking PAS2080 this gives employees a firm footing of knowledge allowing the standards principles to be met.
Learners will demonstrate knowledge and learning of:
- Greenhouse Gases and climate change
- How climate change is likely to affect people locally, nationally and internationally
- How individual and group actions impact the amount of greenhouse gases produced
- What can and is being be done by to reduce impacts
- How individuals and groups can motivate others to act
The key benefits are:
- Improved Carbon Literacy within business and ability to bring associated benefits to customers.
- Visible alignment to public and Government policy on climate change.
- Evidenced action to meet procurement framework requirements, support tender responses and the awarding of other international standards e.g. PAS2080, ISO 14001, ISO20121, BREEAM and others.
- Fosters positive behavioural change, leading to reductions in organisational carbon footprint. Support bids/business plans/personal development reviews with quantitative, evidenced data.

“The Carbon Literacy course was an eye‑opening experience that not only helped me understand my own carbon footprint but also drove meaningful changes within our organisation, prompting us to take practical steps such as reducing energy consumption across our offices, improving waste‑management practices and being more considerate about disposal and recycling. The training has reshaped my perspective and supported our organisation in making more sustainable, responsible choices – well worth attending.”
