IHE Professional Certificates and Professional Diplomas accredit the skills highways practitioners are expected to know and deliver in the workplace. IHE membership is not required, and you don’t need any specific academic qualifications or to take a training course.
IHE Professional Certificates are one of the cornerstones of our exciting new virtual Highway Engineering Academy. They can be completed either through a structure training course or through independent study. IHE Professional Certificates are for practitioners who are technically competent and are often skilled practitioners working under the guidance of others. More information can be found in the Professional Certificate application and guidance booklets below.
In addition, IHE Professional Certificates can form the basis for Engineering Council registration at Engineering Technician (EngTech) level. The two processes are designed to build upon each other and applying for EngTech alongside your Professional Certificate is easy. The supporting guidance booklets can be found below.
IHE Professional Diplomas provide recognition to the skilled senior practitioners working in the highways sector. Like the rest of the virtual Highway Engineering Academy, they can be completed either through a structure training course or through independent study. IHE Professional Diplomas are for practitioners know the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’, exercise independent judgement, hold a responsible position and lead and manage.
