Our review process involves preparing a report of your experience backed up by evidence and presented at an interview (face to face or online) with two registered engineers if you’re applying for CEng or IEng. There is normally no interview for EngTech or ICTTech.
Engineers and technicians need to undergo a Professional Review in order to achieve the Professional Registration titles. In addition, they need to be a member of a licenced Professional Engineering Institute (such as the IHE) and supply a copy of their Continuing Professional Development to their Institute at periodic intervals for assessment by a Professionally Registered assessor. For BCS registration (CITP or RITTech), your Professional Review assessment is conducted virtually.
You can view the guidance on the Professional Registration section of the website. The application form that you need to complete your Professional Review can be found in our Member’s area of the website.
To become a member please visit our membership section where you can find out about our grades and fees for membership. Members can also take advantage of our extensive highways experience with trained specialist advisors and mentors on-hand to offer practical advice and assist every step of the way.
The IHE also offer ‘Engineering Technician Workshops’ which take you through the professional review process.
