  • Temporary Traffic Management (Diploma)

    This course is a follow on from the Professional Certificate in Temporary Traffic Management course.

  • Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)

    This course provides an insight into the fast-changing landscape of Intelligent Transport Systems for Highway Engineers working in all spheres but it will be of particular interest to those working in Highways Authorities, ITS Consultants and ITS Companies.

  • Highway Law: Principles and Practice

    This course provides an interactive general guide to highway law for Highway Engineers working in all spheres but it will be of particular interest to those in Maintenance, Design, Development Management and Public Rights of Way.

  • Asphalt for Highways and Other Paved Areas

    The course is designed to provide an invaluable understanding of asphalt technology. The confusing range of UK surface course asphalts have characteristics which make them suitable for specific uses.

  • Road Safety Engineering

    This course offers the opportunity for the Road Safety Engineer to expand their knowledge and demonstrate their competency in all aspects of road safety engineering.

  • Asset Management

    This four day course leading to the Professional Certificate in Asset Management is designed for Engineers and Technicians who currently are in, or aspire to take, a Highways Asset Engineer/Manager role; or for Asset Management Professionals.

  • Traffic Signing and Road Markings

    This 4-day course provides both a theoretical foundation and practical experience in the design and implementation of traffic signing and road marking schemes.  It contains an introduction to the subject, but takes the concepts through to experienced practitioner level.

  • Transport Development Management

    This course delivers learning across the wide diversity of subjects a Development Management Practitioner requires, in both the private and public fields of work, which are assessed through assignments leading to a DM Foundation Certificate.

  • Winter Services Decision Making

    The only accredited UK course for Winter Services Decision Makers and Managers. Winter Services is assuming greater professional and political significance in ensuring highway networks are available and safe for use at all times.

  • Traffic Signal Control: From Design to Implementation

    This annual residential course is for managers, engineers and technicians involved in the management, design or implementation of traffic control systems. The course is organised by IHE in conjunction with major UK industry players, the course complements the JCT Consultancy training programme.

  • Highway Maintenance

    This course, leading to the Professional Certificate/Diploma, offers the opportunity for those with appropriate maintenance engineering experience to expand upon their knowledge and demonstrate their competence in this increasingly important area.

  • Active Travel - Planning & Design

    This course offers an opportunity for those with experience of implementing cycling schemes to demonstrate their competence and expand upon their knowledge of this increasingly important area.
