This March saw the return of the IHE’s Traffic Signal Control course, the long-running annual training course aimed at managers, engineers and technicians working in traffic signals. For the first time the course was delivered online.
The IHE welcomed delegates from local authorities, contractors and consultants on the four-day course, delivered over two weeks. Although the course focuses on training, it also brings people together from across the industry to share experiences and make contacts that can last for a whole career.
Delivered in collaboration with the Department of Transport, highway authorities, ITS consultants and traffic signal companies, the course aims to provide managers and traffic engineers with the foundation of information and knowledge required for high quality traffic signal engineering.
Experts from across the industry keep the course up to date and in line with our evolving industry and their areas of speciality. Delegates also have the opportunity to obtain the IHE Professional Certificate or Diploma in Traffic Signal Control, an industry recognised accreditation based on the knowledge developed on the course and their on-the-job experience.
For Atkins and other organisations who regularly send engineers to undertake this course, the IHE’s Traffic Signal Control course forms a key part of our ongoing development and helps us to support our engineers and the future of traffic control.
