You’re on Mute!

By Gary Neill IEng FIHE, Chair – IHE Scotland Branch
Since there has been a global switch to remote working, organisations and institutions alike have transformed how they communicate with customers and stakeholders.
‘You’re on mute!’ has become one of the most frequently used phrases of the year as people adjust to this way of working. These technologies have enabled remote working and distance learning. The IHE is no different and has invested in online platforms both for provision of its suite of courses and for its regular branch technical CPD Events.
These CPD events have made the world truly connected as I have participated in IHE CPD events delivered by colleagues in English branches, our Middle Eastern branch based in Doha, and my own Scotland branch events.
Our recent event on 26 January recorded approximately 150 participants, which is a big increase in numbers compared to a traditional event, not to mention that the attendees came from many places across the globe given that it was online.
As we continue to iterate and adjust, engagement continues to be sustained.
