The IHE co-sponsor three all party parliamentary group and recent meetings of these groups have been held.
APPG Highways March 6th 2018
Clive Hall of Herefordshire CC gave a presentation on the issues facing local authority funding and the current consultation being undertaken on the creation of a Major Road Network (MRN) and how it might affect major scheme funding in the future.

The point was made that roads were key assets and had to be managed accordingly: “Asset Management” is now being embraced for that reason and, hopefully, would lead to proper targets being set and appropriately funded.
PACTS- March 8th 2018
The parliamentary advisory council for transport safety met to hear a presentation from the newly formed Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) formed from the amalgamation of the DSA and VOSA. The new driving tests and more targeted enforcement campaigns were explained.
APPG Cycling January 23rd 2018
Chris Boardman, who is Manchester’s first walking and cycling commissioner was the lead presenter at the APPG meeting held in Westminster. Chris has just published a report that calls for 700 miles of cycle lanes built over 10 years, at a cost of £1.5 billion.
