- Thursday July 18, 2024
Nine new members have joined the IHE Council (pictured below) as of the Annual General Meeting last month, following an election.
The election was formally opened on 2 April as an online ballot only. The ballot remained open until 26 April.
In a social media post, Mr Samways said: ‘Honoured to have been elected as Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) Council Member! Thank you to everyone who voted for me. Congratulations to all the newly elected members.’
Mr Brown said: ‘Pleased and proud to say I have been re-elected as an Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) Council Member. Looking forward to continuing to be part of a fab team driving the institute forward at the forefront of the highways industry.’
The new members joined the Council with effect from the AGM on 21 June at Stirling Castle.
The election process was started at the IHE Council meeting held in Coventry University on 22 February when it was announced that a ballot was due to be called to seek replacements for eight members of the council who had completed their current term of office, whether that was their first term of office or their second. A call for nominations was opened on 26 February and closed on 29 March, at which time 14 nominations were received, though one nominee withdrew.
