Members discuss innovative bike light technology

  • Tuesday December 8, 2020

The IHE Scotland Branch recently held a two-hour CPD accredited event on ‘See.Sense Cycle Light Technology’.

Philip McAleese of See.Sense delivered a presentation on their innovative bike light, which reacts to situations by flashing brighter and faster as well as collecting data on the ride.

This included discussing case studies on its use in London and Ireland with AECOM. The technology aims to improve understanding of what routes cyclists are actually using to inform the optimal design of cycle networks by planners and engineers and has the ability to map road surfaces for cyclists to identify areas of deteriorated surfaces which  have the potential to contribute to incidents.
