IHE welcomes new Policy and Engagement Officer
- Tuesday June 18, 2024
We are very pleased to introduce our new policy and engagement officer, Cyrena Lafronte.
Cyrena comes with excellent credentials and good experience in the field of policy development. She will help support the Institute as it influences government strategy by answering enquiries and responding to policy requests from central government and the Department for Transport. As part of her role in evolving the IHE’s policy work, Ms Lafronte will also help steer the Institute in the right direction to meet the ever increasing challenges we face in the areas of climate change and its impact on our networks and the need to prepare them for electric vehicles.
Ms Lafronte said: ‘As I step into my second week in my new position at the IHE, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. I have not only joined an esteemed organisation, but I have also joined a team of really friendly and hardworking individuals who are passionate about contributing to excellence in highway engineering.
‘I am thrilled about the chance to work with my team and collaborate with stakeholders from various sectors, advocating for innovative solutions and best practices in highway engineering. From prioritising safety to promoting environmental stewardship and diversity, I am eager to contribute to shaping the future of transportation infrastructure.
‘Most of all, I look forward to using my skills in policy analysis and stakeholder engagement to tackle pressing challenges.’
We are sure that everyone will welcome Cyrena to the IHE family and ensure that she is supported in carrying a role which at times may require support, advice and information from members of the Institute.
