- Tuesday February 11, 2025
The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) is delighted to announce its sponsorship of this year’s ITS annual Essay Competition, now open to early career professionals, apprentices, and students.
This annual event celebrates rising talent in the transport technology sector, inviting 1,500-word essays on key transport technology themes. Two prizes are up for grabs: one for the best submission by an early career professional (within the first five years of their ITS career) and one for the top student or apprentice essay.
Winners will each receive a £500 prize, a mentoring session with either Dr Jo White, Roads Development Director at National Highways, or Paul Campion, CEO of TRL, and widespread promotion of their essay throughout the sector.
Participants can choose from the following topics:
- A Transport Network for All – How does the ITS sector ensure the future of transport is accessible and inclusive?
- Freight of the Future – How will technology change the logistics, freight and maritime sectors?
- A Sustainable Revolution – How do we ensure our transport network is ready for Net Zero?
Entries are accepted until midnight on Monday, 3 March.
