IHE signs PDP agreement with Telford & Wrekin Council
- Wednesday June 30, 2021
The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) has announced a professional development partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council.
The agreement promotes closer cooperation between partners and means the two organisations can join forces to provide industry training, promote the IHE Highway Engineering Academy and support sector practitioners with training and professional registration.
Under a newly signed agreement, the IHE will provide advice and support to staff at Telford & Wrekin Council through training courses, enabling them to deliver services such as highway maintenance and winter service provision, from a range of subjects available through the IHE Academy.
Chief Executive of the IHE, Steve Spender said; “I am extremely pleased that we have been able to sign this agreement with Telford & Wrekin Council, which is the first that we have signed with a Local Authority. I believe we can assist the Authority in providing much-needed guidance and assistance for those individuals who wish to seek professional registration and development.”
Director of Neighbourhood & Enforcement Services from Telford & Wrekin Council, Dean Sargeant said; “This is a positive step forward in supporting existing staff and those who may join us in the future.
“Professional registration can increase people’s earnings, improve career prospects and help them attain industry recognition for experience, expertise and hard work. I look forward to working with the IHE and promoting this opportunity to our staff”.
