IHE Council welcomes new Student Member

Friday February 14, 2025

We are delighted to welcome Kelly Durham-Flinter as our new Student Member on the IHE Council. Kelly was elected by IHE student members following a recent ballot that closed on 10 January 2025.

Kelly is currently studying a BEng Civil Engineering Apprenticeship at Coventry University. She is passionate about increasing the number of women in engineering, particularly within STEM careers and highways engineering. Kelly believes that without actively encouraging women to join the profession, we are effectively losing 50% of potential future engineers. She emphasises the need for strong engineers to be developed and shaped for the future.

With a strong connection to highways engineering, Kelly’s passion lies in transport infrastructure and engineering. She currently works within integrated transport and aims to begin a rotation within her workplace to gain more experience in major projects from start to finish.

Kelly joined us at our IHE Council meeting on 6 February 2025, in Birmingham.
