IHE attends Highways Awards
- Monday November 21, 2022
The IHE continues its strong relationship with the Highways Awards, with president Martin Polland having the honour of chairing the judging panel, and the Institute once again sponsoring the Apprentice of the Year Award. The award ceremony was, as always, a spectacular event that took place last month at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge.
The Institute would like to congratulate this year’s Apprentice of the Year winner, Daniel Johnson from Ringway Jacobs.
Joining the guests on the IHE table at the awards were the winners of the Best IHE Submission of the Year – engineering technician Babuka Alief; incorporated engineer James Richards and chartered engineer Shervin Motamedi. Martin Polland presented them with their award during the evening, congratulating each recipient on the quality of their professional review submission.
Mr Polland commented: ‘It has been fantastic to see our award winners for best CEng, IEng and Eng Tech submissions attend this year’s Highways Awards. The award winners should be proud of their achievement of becoming professionally qualified, which I’m sure will assist their careers in the future. I’m sure their employers will also be delighted, and it is a chance to showcase how good their employees are.
‘I would encourage as many people as possible to consider working towards professional registration. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our members to gain recognition for their professional qualifications and competency, and perhaps, like our winners today, they may have the chance to attend the prestigious Highways Awards event next year.’
