IHE and IAT sign a Memorandum of Understanding
- Monday November 22, 2021
The Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT) and the IHE have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) setting out a closer working relationship between the organisations.
The MoU will see the two institutes work closer together to meet the objectives of the agreement, which are ‘to promote sectoral co-operation in the field of asphalt technology and highways specifically in relation to activities in the development of standards and specifications and in dissemination of knowledge and learning’.
The agreement has the aim of providing mutual platforms for the exchange, co-operation and development of topics of mutual interest, and to provide the organisations with support for providing training and educational activities such as CPD events, as well as seminars and conferences.
This will see a number of distinct benefits for the organisations’ respective memberships that will help forward both the highways and asphalt technology sectors.
The benefits include reciprocal discounted member access to each organisations’ training programmes, mutual promotion of training via each other’s websites and marketing to promote professional training and ongoing collaboration at industry events and initiatives.
IHE president Stephen Webb said: ‘I am really pleased that we have formed this partnership with the IAT in providing training and other areas of support for those working in the highways sector.’
IAT president Brian Downes, said: ‘Increased collaboration and co-operation between IAT and IHE will benefit not only our respective members but also the highways industry as a whole. We look forward to working with the IHE on a wide range of training and industry initiatives.’
