CPD Reminder

  • Friday November 15, 2019

We’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that under the IHE members’ Code of Conduct, you are obliged to maintain and record Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

CPD takes many different forms, including reading and mentoring as well as formal training and refresher courses.

To assist members in achieving their CPD obligations, we have created a ‘CPD Hub’ containing good sources of CPD material including videos, technical articles, codes of practice and guidance documents published by the Institute, along with the MyCareerPath online CPD recording tool. Please note: you will need to log in to your members profile to access the hub.

The CPD Hub also includes a copy of the IHE CPD guide and CPD templates for members who have not yet started to record their professional development.

For our professionally registered (EngTech, IEng or CEng) members, the Engineering Council has since January 2017 required all Professional Engineering Institutions to undertake random sampling of their professionally registered members’ CPD.

The IHE is currently conducting its CPD audit for 2019 and our professionally registered members of the Institute may be asked to provide a CPD record covering their activity during 2018. Therefore, if you are professionally registered and ‘professionally active’ in the engineering profession you may be contacted and asked to supply a CPD record. Failure to do so may put your professional registration at risk.

If you have any queries or need any assistance, the IHE Membership team can be contacted by emailing ProfessionalReviews@theihe.org.
