Back to school: IHE signs historic Academic-Professional Partnership
- Wednesday October 19, 2022

The IHE is pleased to announce that it has signed an Academic-Professional Partnership Agreement with London South Bank University (LSBU).
The agreement is the first of its kind and builds on the collaboration between the Institute and LSBU since 2015.
LSBU has well-established links to the highways sector and provides highway engineering teaching as part of its syllabus in undergraduate projects, Msc projects and PhD projects. The university teaches three large modules of highways/civil engineering across BEng, BSc and MSc courses and has its own highway engineering laboratory for experimental work.
Director of professional development at LSBU, Dr Amer Ali FIHE, commented: ‘I strongly support the development of this collaborative agreement between LSBU and the IHE as I am sure this will help prepare our students for the continuation of their journey towards membership and ultimately professional registration.’
IHE chief executive Steve Spender said: ‘Our relationship with LSBU has been particularly strong for a number of years and we hope to see students from the university take their first steps towards gaining professional registration.’
