EqualEngineers and the IHE announce partnership to advance inclusive and safe cultures in engineering
- Thursday April 23, 2026
We are delighted to announce a new partnership with EqualEngineers focused on strengthening inclusive and safe cultures across the engineering profession.
This collaboration reflects a shared belief that engineering thrives when everyone can contribute, feel they belong and can work without barriers to their safety or wellbeing. Together, the organisations will champion inclusive practice at every level, from education and early careers through to senior leadership and professional registration.
By combining expertise, networks and a commitment to positive cultural change, EqualEngineers and IHE will work on initiatives designed to expand access to opportunities, build confidence and community for under-represented groups, and embed inclusive engineering design principles into professional standards. The partnership will support knowledge-sharing and collaborative learning across the sector, demonstrating collective progress to members and stakeholders.
EqualEngineers and IHE will also collaborate on institution-related events throughout 2026, creating new spaces for dialogue, leadership development, and exploring what safe and inclusive engineering looks like in practice.
Katharine Kelly, IHE President, said “Our collaborative agreement with Equal Engineers supports our members by championing equality, diversity, and inclusion across the highways sector. This partnership enhances professional development, promotes diverse leadership, and helps create a more welcoming and resilient profession for the future.”
To celebrate the launch of this partnership, EqualEngineers and IHE will jointly host a webinar later in 2026 – more details of which will be released closer to the date of the event.
This partnership builds on growing collaboration between EqualEngineers and professional institutions committed to shaping a more inclusive future for engineering, one that better reflects and serves society.
