Nottingham Trent University Civil Engineering Awards

Wednesday February 18, 2026

The 2025 IHE Prize for the best performance by MSc students in Highway Engineering at Nottingham Trent University was shared by Hasini Wasundara (pictured below left), Sankajanie Gunatunga and Sharon Blessy Samson (pictured below right).

Using the MOATA carbon portal by Mott MacDonald, the students had to produce a road pavement assessment and design report. In groups of two, they acted as consultants appointed by
National Highways for three different trunk road schemes (two existing roads, and one proposed new road).

Congratulations to Hasini and Sharon, who received their prizes from IHE Council Member, Prof. Pryce Evans.
