IHE Greater London Branch Conference – Call for Papers
- Monday July 7, 2025
Following the success of our previous Branch Conferences, the Institute of Highway Engineers Greater London Branch is pleased to announce the 2025 Branch Conference.
We are putting out a call for papers for the 2025 Conference, where the theme is: Future Roads – Smart and Sustainable Highways for London.
The aim is to get a broad variety of papers from individuals, client organisations and businesses in the Highways sector that encompass this theme. Smart highways and sustainability are two key challenges facing the sector, and the 2025 conference is looking at future innovations, developments and thought-provoking ideas that show the way forward. This can vary from the use of AI, Internet of Things through to new products and materials or case studies and ongoing developments.
The call for papers is simple. Please provide no more than a 500-word synopsis of the topic related to Innovation in Highways, including your name, position and organisation (if applicable). The synopsis can be a formalised response or in the form of bullet points or an overview of what you would like to present on.
Submit this to greater_london@theihe.org by Friday 1st August 2025.
From the submitted papers and responses we will seek to build a conference that captures the theme across our industry and to help drive London and the UK towards a brighter future. On the day you would be expected to deliver a short presentation (15-20min TBC) on your paper and potentially a question and answer session. The Conference aims to group relevant topics into each session and allow a healthy discussion panel to be formed following presentations.
Thank you for your support
