Members’ Professional Growth
- Monday February 17, 2025
The IHE Council has again committed to supporting members’ professional growth by offering free professional reviews in 2025.
This decision follows a notable increase in professional review participation over the past year, as well as the IHE’s strong financial performance and growing membership numbers. These achievements have enabled the IHE to continue providing meaningful support to its members.
Achieving professional registration is a hallmark of engineering excellence, demonstrating a high standard of competence and a commitment to maintaining those standards throughout your career. Whether you’re new to the engineering field or seeking to advance your career, earning a professional registration title can unlock opportunities for career progression. It also underscores a commitment to ethics, sustainability, and professionalism.
Professional registration is accessible to any practising engineer or technician who meets the required competence standards.
Free guidance sessions
If you are ready to apply for professional registration (ICTTech, EngTech, IEng or CEng) but are unsure how to proceed, the IHE invites you to sign up for individual guidance sessions, providing the opportunity to discuss your application with a member reviewer, who has experienced the process.
These free sessions are for anyone who would like to find out more about professional registration or who is currently completing their application. They are not mentoring sessions, but an opportunity to help those unsure how to proceed in the application process. Attendance will be capped and future sessions arranged if they become oversubscribed.
IHE President Katharine Kelly said: ‘Make 2025 the year you achieve your full potential and become professionally registered. These one-to-one workshops are ideal if you don’t know which route to take, if you need personalised guidance, or if you just want to talk through your portfolio with someone. The IHE is committed to getting the best out of its members and supporting your career development.’
