Urgent request from the DfT – Sourcing Data Sets
- Thursday March 26, 2020
To monitor the impacts of COVID-19 and the way the country is reacting to the measures, the Department for Transport is keen to source data sets in the following areas, especially for local roads:
- Traffic flow (ie count, not speed)
- Traffic movement (eg trip length and ODs)
- Cycle and pedestrian movements
If you have any data regarding any of these, please share with the DfT as soon as possible. The data will be used to support Government policy in its response to the outbreak.
Members who have clients or contacts within Local Authorities are asked to pass this request on, so it reaches as many people as possible.
The data needs to be already readily available and updated daily. The DfT does not need processing, just the raw data set.
Andy Graham of White Willow Consulting is co-ordinating this on behalf of the Department. Please email him at firstname.lastname@example.org
This is an urgent request so please only contact him if you have a) data available and b) have the authority to supply it and can do so with a minimum of paperwork.
