NEW Transport Resilience Courses
- Monday February 17, 2020
The first pilot for the new Transport Resilience Course has been held in January and was extremely well-received with some positive feedback and comments from the delegates.
The course is intended for highway professionals, including the supply chain, and provides good practice in carrying out the tactical level role of co-ordination during a major incident.
The focus of the course is on building the resilience across the sector, by promoting the importance of understanding transport networks as ‘lifeline’ infrastructure, which provide essential services to the community.
This focus is bolstered by the fact that highway infrastructure often houses aligned channels for additional lifeline services (eg gas, fibre, water). Accordingly, it is anticipated that the course may also draw candidates from these partner sectors.
Courses will be held throughout the country during 2020 and the provisional dates and venues have been agreed.
