IHE supports petition to stop roadworker abuse
- Thursday January 7, 2021
The IHE supports the ‘Stamp it out’ campaign to stop roadworker abuse and make it a specific criminal offence to assault highway workers.
Every day highway workers provide a vital service to allow us as public road users to move around freely and safely, yet there are increasing numbers of threats both verbally and physically against those that work on our highways across the United Kingdom.
This abuse needs to end and the IHE is calling on you to please help support this campaign by signing the petition below. The aim is to have the Government recognise this as unacceptable and make it a criminal act to abuse Road Workers in their place of employment.
Sign the petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/548480
This is a major issue for our industry and if the petition reaches the 10,000 or hopefully the 100,000 landmark, this will bring it to the attention of the UK Parliament to try and address this issue.
The deadline for signing the petition is: 24th March 2021.
