The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) has launched new professional certificates in asset management and traffic sign design this autumn and has put out a call for candidates to undertake the first courses at a reduced cost.
The training courses, which are aligned with current codes of practice and guidance, represent a significant addition to the current suite of training available from the IHE and have been developed by the industry’s leading professionals.
Chief executive Richard Hayes told Highways: ‘Asset management is one of the most fundamental elements of highway policy and maintenance and the course offers a comprehensive syllabus appropriate for service managers and practitioners.
‘The traffic sign design course includes the latest guidance and advice for the revisions of the traffic signs regulations.’
Both courses are offered at Certificate and Diploma level and the course assignments will be transferable for candidates seeking EngTech. and Incorporated Engineers. There is also an individual route to Chartered Engineer Status.
