This presentation hosted by the IHE Northern Ireland Branch will provide an inside look at the national road condition survey being delivered by Gaist for the Department for Infrastructure in Northern Ireland. It will explore how advanced surveying technology, machine vision and structured data analytics are being deployed at scale to create a consistent, defensible and repeatable evidence base for network condition.
The presentation will explain how the survey is undertaken, how data quality and governance are assured and how outputs are transformed into actionable intelligence for asset management and investment planning. Attendees will gain insight into the operational challenges of surveying an entire national network, the importance of standardisation and transparency and how high-quality condition data underpins smarter, risk-based infrastructure decisions.
