The IHE East Midlands Branch would like to invite you to this online event on Tuesday 10th January 2023 by Gerald Byrne, National Specification Manager at WJ.
Retexturing is a reliable cost effective, environmentally friendly surface treatment which will extend the life of your road asset, and is therefore a valuable process when adopted and used as part of a highway authorities asset management strategy.
Improves Safety
Post treatment, retexturing will immediately make unsafe stretches of carriageway safe. The process restores macro and micro-texture to road surfaces stopping skidding accidents and incidents.
Reduces Costs
Retexturing is a cost effective method to extend the surface life of a road. In comparison to resurfacing it can cost as little as 10%, whilst still achieving fantastic results.
Lower Carbon
Retexturing is a low carbon alternative to the replacement of a high psv surface course, only creating 5-10% of the carbon that a typical resurfacing scheme would generate.
You will leave the CPD session understanding:
- What retexturing is
- The technical guidance for reference
- Retexturing techniques
- How long retexturing lasts
- A comparison of retexturing compared to resurfacing in terms of cost & carbon
- Example case studies
