Details

Transportation modeling has become very popular in many research studies, and within this mode choice modeling has become an interesting concern for all decision makers. Analysing consumer behaviour has played an important role in sustainable transportation management that favours the needs of individuals. It is effected by several factors, the effect of which has been made a part of this research.

This thesis is an investigation into the study of user behaviour regarding different mode choices which are found present in Bundang and Ilsan, the two distinctive towns of Seoul Metropolitan Area. This is helpful in analysing the transportation problems in the two cities as well as in the nearby towns. Also, the study serves as a good guideline to policy makers when assessing the transport intervention regarding urban and employment density as the key parameters of planning. It will, thus, help in formulating constructive and holistic strategic planning approaches. The thesis is then concluded with a set of recommendation for future practices.
