Roads have become a very vital infrastructure in enabling the transfer of freight as well as people, making the sustainable development of roads very important.
Authorities in Qatar are demanding faster and better quality for road construction whilst design & supervision consultants experience challenges in terms of pavement design, materials specifications, and construction in order to deliver the best quality and value for money expected by the client.
This presentation aims to talk about the principles of pavement engineering in terms of design and materials and will demonstrate challenges in pavement structure design and construction. Furthermore, latest innovation and sustainable materials used in pavement construction, which offers important industry and community benefits, are discussed.
