This year’s CPD-certified conference programme (8 March) theme is Discovery: solutions for the next two decades of bridge engineering. Presentations will cover key areas including new scour detection technology; UAVs and inspections; population-based SHM; use of lime mortar for repair; ultra-high performance fibre reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) for construction and strengthening; parametrics for HS2 bridge design; Union Chain Bridge refurbishment; managing containment risk for LA structures; Network Rail Flow Bridge system; lessons from 7th century bridge management; and how to re-use wind turbine blades as bridges. And your workshop day (9 March) will include the Bridge Owners’ Forum’s ‘grand challenges’, masonry arch bridge maintenance and how to use UHPFRC for extending the life of structures.

There will also be a chance to network with like-minded peers and relax with a complimentary drink or two at the Bridges Awards ceremony immediately after the last conference session.
