To celebrate national careers week, EngineeringUK has published its new ‘Idea to Career’ booklet designed to help entice young people into STEM careers. The Institute of Highways Engineers as well as 24 other professional engineering institutions contributed to the booklet.
‘From idea to career’ is a free, downloadable booklet for young people, teachers and careers advisors which showcases the breadth of rewarding careers available in engineering and technology.
Eleanor Eyre, Head of Careers at EngineeringUK said, “We are thrilled that so many professional engineering institutions have worked with us to represent the breadth and scope of the engineering sector and the different routes to becoming an engineer, in our new ‘From idea to career’ booklet. Young people, teachers and careers advisers will benefit from discovering the many exciting, critical, future-focused developments in engineering and technology listed in this booklet, which the engineering community has helped bring to life for a young audience.
“The opportunities to make a difference to the world presented by the engineering industries featured in ‘From idea to career’ can only ever scratch the surface of the sector as a whole and we therefore continue to develop our suite of careers inspiration resources, with valued input and ongoing support from the wider engineering community and the professional engineering institutions.”
