For the first time IHE have joined up with Engineers Without Borders UK, who run the Engineering for People Design Challenge, which challenges students across UK universities to take on real world issues.
Each year working with local partners across Africa, Asia and Latin America they develop a design brief based on challenges faced in the communities with the students competing to create the best design for the challenge given. Over 18,000 students have taken part and for 2017 there are around 30 universities taking part.
The final will be held at Siemens Crystal in London on 19 June and IHE will be part of the judging team as well as participating in the day’s activities. For further information on the work of Engineers without Borders visit their website www.ewb-uk.org
