Celebrating achievement at the Highways Awards
- Tuesday October 21, 2025
The Highways Awards in central London on 23 September once again provided the perfect stage to celebrate the best in the industry and some of the IHE’s leading lights.
Representing the Institute on the night were President Katharine Kelly, Head Judge, and Past Presidents Martin Polland and Stephen Webb, each of whom also had the privilege of serving on the judging panel.
Ms Kelly opened the evening with a welcome address before the celebrations began. The IHE was also proud to continue its support as a legacy sponsor of the Apprentice of the Year Award, which this year was presented to Maciej Kaczmarczyk of Kier.
Joining the IHE table were the recipients of the Institute’s own Best Submission of the Year Awards. The EngTech award went to Jake Bovill (pictured far right), IEng was awarded to John Murdoch, and the CEng category was jointly won by John Stephens (near left) and Victoria-Anne Walsh.
These winners were presented with their certificates by Ms Kelly, who praised the outstanding standard of their professional review submissions. Reflecting on their success, IHE CE Lyle Andrew commented: ‘The scope and depth of expertise shown in the winning portfolios was outstanding, and it’s motivating to see the difference these professionals are already making within the industry.’
Thanks goes to the Hemming Group for another great event at which the IHE is proud to play a key role.
