Your Branch Committee is arranging an attractive series of events for the forthcoming months. Some are still in the early stages of preparation and, as ever, we are very dependent on the availability of speakers and venues.

Once an event is organised, details are published on this page and we also circulate electronic "flyers" through Committee contacts, usually in the workplace.

The following are confirmed events:

Thursday 19th March 2009

Peter Watt, Head of the Forensic Faculty, Metropolitan Police College, Hendon. Recording of forensic material arising from serious or fatal road collisions. This information is used by Police Officers in compliance with the Police Road Death Investigation Manual.

Tuesday 31st March 2009

Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual: Graham Cole of TRL has been subjected to further review to ensure it remains applicable to modern traffic systems and technological advances. The changes arising from the review are due to become effective from 1st April will provide an input to the changes.

Wednesday May 13th 2009

"Bottoms up to the Highway Engineer" the Annual Winchester Seminar. The latest materials used in road construction, right from excavation (bottom) to surfacing (top).
