IHE's Annual Development Management Conference
Over 50 delegates packed the IHE's 9th Annual Development Management Conference held on 24th May at IHE headquarters at Russell Sq, London.
The event was structured around two themes; the morning session featured 'Improving our living environment' comprising presentations from Chris Ferrary of Steer Davies Gleave, Andy Leahy of Bespoke Property Group and Keith Lawson of Essex CC. Phil Jones of Phil Jones Associates, Ray Farrow of the HBF and David Groves of Oxfordshire CC gave presentations on applying Manual for Streets2 in local authority guidance.
The afternoon session tackled Financial issues in Development Management. Toby Davey of 4-5 Chambers and Andy Blackburn of Essex CC took delegates through the Community Infrastructure Levy whilst adoption issues were discussed with Ray Farrow, David Groves and Kingsley Cook of Leicester CC leading the discussion. Oliver Grant of The Environment Agency brought delegates up to date on the Flood & Water Management Act and emerging SUDS guidance.
Due to the event being over subscribed, we are looking at repeating the format later in the year. The annual Development Management course is due to be held in Birmingham on 13th-15th September and 6th-8th December.
