Your rights as a member

IHE is an open and democratic Institution. IHE is run by a national Council of elected members. You can seek election and vote.

The Institute has fifteen regional branches organised by local members. Your participation will be welcomed. You can also start up your own local activities.
At head office there are six staff who support the work of IHE.
There are also many networks of IHE members offering advice and support to the public, the profession's employers, other members and aspiring members. You can be a mentor, a reviewer, a course accreditor, or contribute to IHE consultations.

Fellows, Members and Associate Members of IHE can:

vote at all branch, national and Institute meetings
be elected to Council
use designatory letters (FIHE, MIHE, AMIHE) to demonstrate professional competence

Graduate Members and Student Members can:

sit on branch committees (all branches are run by local members)
serve as branch officers (except the posts of chair and vice chair which are reserved for corporate members)
vote for 2 representatives to sit on Council
