What we do for you

The IHE exists to help engineers and technicians at all levels in highways, traffic and transportation, to achieve and to maintain the highest standards of professional competence.

It offers you a route to full recognition of your achievements and is positively committed to raising awareness of your high standards.

IHE seeks to identify and respond to significant trends and developments in highways and transportation and in the wider society and environment.

  • National and regional conferences update you and facilitate your developing practice. IHE meetings launched the Traffic Signs Regulations with DfT, introduced health and safety legislation, reviewed traffic calming techniques and looked at issues in surface treatments, PPG13, parking, access, rural transportation, safety audit, NRSWA, maintenance and Manual for Streets.
