CSCS card
IHE members can use their CEng, IEng or EngTech registration to obtain the CSCS Professionally Qualified Persons (PQP) card without the need for an NVQ.
The Institute was one of the first five professional bodies to gain CSCS recognition alongside: Institution of Civil Engineers, Chartered Institute of Building, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. We have all gained approval by mapping our membership criteria against specific NVQs to the satisfaction of the CSCS Board.
Your card is renewable every 5 years when you'll need to show you have maintained your competence by continuing membership of IHE, completion of CPD and re-taking the test.
What you need to do:
- Pass the PQP Managerial and Professional health and safety test.
- Get two recommendations - one from your employer to confirm your competence - the second from an IHE registered member who must verify your Professional Development record over two years.
How do I apply:
Call 0844 248 5262. CSCS will send you a pre-populated application form and arrange an appointment for you to take the ConstructionSkills Managerial and Professional health and safety test at a convenient location.
Alternatively, you can download an application form from www.cscs.uk.com/application and book the ConstructionSkills Managerial and Professional test online at www.cscs.uk.com/health-and-safety-test or by calling 0344 994 4488.
The PQP card lasts for five years and may be renewed on verification of the PQP criteria, including passing the ConstructionSkills Managerial and Professional health and safety test within the previous two years.
You will need the special booklet listing all H&S test questions for this route.
