Dear Sir,

I would like to be a member but I am not sure which one I need to apply for. I have a Civil Engineering degree from Turkey. I checked my degree with Naric to find out What is equilavent in Uk. I was told by NAric that my degree is accepted in UK as a BSc in Civil Engineering. I also work in a Highway, Road safety, Traffic Engineering Consultancy Company more than 3 years. Would you please recommend me which membership is suitable for me to apply.

Best Regards,

There is no neat academic equivalence but you can use 'Route B' to Eng Tech which asks for a report showing engineering knowledge as well as competence.

Dear IHIE

In 1999 I successfully passed the Incorporated Professional Review with the Intitution of Civil Engineers. (IENG AMICE)

I only kept my membership and paid the subscription for a further couple of years and therefore no longer a member.
I did consider going back but the fees have risen considerably and all of my work involves highway design approval for a local Authority.

I am considering joining IHIE and my question is whether my old qualification is transferable and what grade of membership I would be eligable for?

My route to IEng was by 18 months post HNC (Civil Engineering) & 20 days CPD. The IPR was achieved by way of 2 reports, interview and an Examination undertaken at the ICE, London.

Many Thanks

Steve Kirby
