About us
IHE at 40 in 2005
Founded in January 1965, IHE celebrated the achievements of members and the Institute throughout 2005.
President Gerry Harvey launching the anniversary said:
"For 40 years AHT, HTTA and now IHE, has worked independently to keep the standards of our profession high, to identify and to safeguard the proper interests of our members; to ensure that the contribution to our industry and to society of incorporated engineers and technicians is understood and regarded by the wide engineering profession and its representative bodies; and to provide effective ways for engineers to undertake continuing professional development by participating in our branch, activities and our national conferences and courses.
Members are our lifeblood. Our active membership in 15 branches UK-wide provide events, design courses, contribute to publications, act as professional reviewers, and support and help our small central staff. We take pride in our achievements."
