Anniversary Dinner

The 40th Anniversary was celebrated in style.

A wonderful night.

On one of the summer's hottest weekends IHE was in Warwickshire celebrating its anniversary in style. Founder Chairman, Bill Taylor, sent good wishes but was unable to attend. Several Past Presidents did, however, make the trip - Alf Kendrick (Gosport head of planning), Alan Newman, Suffolk County Council, Kevin Walsh, Capita, Stuart Dungworth (fresh from nine months setting road safety standards in Ghana), Kevin Lilley, now at EH Harris, Stephen Chandler, our long serving Treasurer and Peter Dipper (re-elected for a final term on the Engineering Council Board).

Over 70 members and guests toured Warwick Castle state rooms then sat down in the sweltering coach house for dinner and entertainment. Numbers were bolstered by local support from TMS Consultancy.

Veteran raffle master, Bryan Sefton-Smith, made a welcome reappearance raising £534 for the Nepal Charity.

Presentations to new Honorary Fellows, Phil Jones and Nich Brown completed the official proceedings. Back at the hotel the bar was kept busy until after 2.00 am.
